The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan broke ground on a community center to serve tribal members and area residents.
The 8,500-square-foot center will include medical examination rooms and a banquet room with seating for 200. It is seven times larger than the tribe's current center in the area.
The effort is part of the tribe's plan to expand health care, education, law enforcement and other services in the Standish area.
