Police in Regina, Saskatchewan, are treating the death of a 20-year-old Native woman as a homicide. The case may be linked to Native gang activity.
Janine Rene Wesaquate, 20, was found in a burned-out house on Tuesday. Authorities confirmed that the fire was deliberately set.
The house is the same one at the center of a gang-related murder case. Six gang members allegedly took Wayne Friday from the house, killed him and dumped his body on a nearby reserve.
