Leaders of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma are ignoring a judge's order to delay an upcoming election.
The tribe's business committee doesn't recognize the ruling by Judge Steven Parker of the U.S. Court of Indian Offenses. He ordered the election to be delayed until August in order to allow more tribal members to register to vote and to allow more candidates to file for office.
The tribe's election board plans to hold the election in July.
