Indian students from Montana win business award

Three Indian students from the University of Montana have won a $1,000 award for their business leadership skills.

Sophia Alvarez, Danny Garcia and Michelle Sangrey attended the 11th annual American Indian Business Leadership conference earlier this month. They won the award in a business plan competition against 35 other schools. They created a digital photography business.

Alvarez and Sangrey are members of the Chippewa Cree Tribe who grew up on the Rocky Boys Reservation in Montana. Garcia is a member of the Jicarilla Apache Nation from New Mexico.
