Two Native students at the University of Montana are among the 80 recipients of scholarships from the Morris K. Udall Foundation.

The scholarship program is open to Native students who want to pursue a career in Indian public policy and health care and to non-Native students in environmental conservation careers. Each winner receives a $5,000 award.

Marcia St. Goddard, a member of the Blackfeet Nation, is a UM sophomore majoring in pre-physical therapy and health and human performance. She plans to work for the Indian Health Service on her reservation when she graduates.

Jeff Ross, a member of the Saulteaux Ojibwe First Nation of Ontario, is a junior studying resource conservation. He wants to help resolve natural resource disputes among tribes and other governments.
