More remains discovered at Minnesota worksite

The Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Community of Minnesota is renewing its call to protect a worksite where human remains have been discovered.

The exact number of remains located at the site of a $700 million office-and-residential project is unknown. But over the objections of the tribe, the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council plans to relocate the bones and bury them elsewhere.

The Mendota tribe is not federally recognized. The state asked other tribes about the site and those tribes agreed to relocation of the remains.
