The Association of American Indian Physicians is holding its 33rd annual conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this week.
About 300 doctors and 100 students are attending the meeting. This year's theme is "Developing Mind, Body, and Spirit: Focus on Native Adolescent Health." Seminars are being held on diabetes, AIDS, substance abuse and other issues affecting Native youth.
The organization estimates there are anywhere from 400 to 1,000 Indian doctors.
