Seneca-Cayuga Tribe could fund arts center in N.Y.

Lawmakers in New York said they might support the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe's gaming plans if the tribe funds a performing arts center in Rochester.

The tribe, based in Oklahoma, has been reclaiming ancestral territory in New York but has run into some opposition. Local leaders say the tribe has no gaming or governmental rights in the state.

State lawmakers said discussions about funding for the arts center have been brought up recently.
