Opponents of Indian gaming and tribes seeking recognition met at a forum in Danbury, Connecticut, on Monday.
Attorney general Richard Blumenthal and Jeff Benedict, president of the Connecticut Alliance Against Casino Expansion, organized the meeting. Both want Congress to pass restrictions on lobbying by tribes seeking recognition.
Also years, four members of the state's congressional delegation wrote a letter to the House Committee on Governmental Affairs seeking an investigation into the
'"influence of outside interests, especially wealthy gaming interests, on the process of Native American tribes," according to news reports.
