A Canadian Native man accused of murdering American Indian Movement activist Anna Mae Pictou-Aquash is fighting his extradition to the U.S.

John Graham says he would rather face trial in Canada. 'To be extradited down into the U.S. would be a death warrant," he told the Associated Press outside a courtroom in British Columbia.

Graham is out on bail. A Canadian prosecutor asked a judge to revoke the bail, saying Graham is a flight risk.

Graham is one of two people indicted for Aquash's murder. Her body was found on the Pine Ridge Reservation in February 1976.

The second man, Arlo Looking Cloud, is awaiting trial in South Dakota.
