The chief executive officer of Cook Inlet Region Inc., an Alaska Native regional corporation, will step down at the end of the year.
Carl Marrs became the target of criticism for his handling of the corporation, which saw record profits and heavy dividends during his tenure. But in last couple of years, revenues and profits dropped.
Marrs said he was stepping down so that the corporation won't get caught up in political battles.
