Sinte Gleska University in South Dakota is sponsoring the Northern Plains Indian Market from September 23-26.
The tribal college stepped in after American Indian Services said it would not host its Northern Plains Tribal Arts this year due to financial concerns. The show was not raising any money, executive director Marilyn Lonehill-Meier said.
The new Indian Market will take place in the same location in Sioux Falls. Prizes will be awarded to top artists in 17 visual arts categories with a total of $13,000 in cash prizes.
