A member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is asking for more studies at a proposed lake site that he says will destroy a burial mound.
Frank LaMere is working with a farmer who opposes the project. They say the Little Blue Natural Resources District hasn't done enough work to ensure that graves won't be disturbed. LaMere says an old Native village is also at risk.
The district says its tests show no presence of a burial mound.
