Muscogee (Creek) Nation Public Relations: River Spirit Set to re open

Muscogee (Creek) Nation reopens most of casino after historic flooding

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation welcomed visitors back to its flagship gaming facility after unprecedented flooding hit the River Spirit Casino Resort last month.

The gaming floors, hotel, conference center, entertainment venue and restaurants at the facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma, reopened on Friday. The outdoor pool, as well as the spa and fitness center inside, are still being cleaned in anticipation for an opening next month, according to news reports.

“It's been very hectic, we've got three remediation companies on site, upwards of four to five hundred people working around the clock, doing the cleanup and remediation," Chief Executive Officer Pat Crofts of Muscogee Creek Nation Casinos told News on 6.

The casino is located along the Arkansas River, where water levels rose to historic levels following heavy storms last month. It was forced to close on May 22.
