The
Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation held a topping-off ceremony last week for its brand new casino in Arizona.
The tribe is replacing the
Fort McDowell
Casino with an entirely new facility. To forthcoming We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort is on track to open in the summer of 2020.
"It's an exciting day for all of us," President Bernadine Burnette said at the June 6 ceremony to place the final beam atop the structure, The Arizona Republic reported.
The casino will be connected to the
We-Ko-Pa
Resort and Conference Center, For the first time, gaming, hospitality and other amenities will be together in one complex.
We-Ko-Pa means "Four Peaks" in the Yavapai language. The name refers to the four sacred mountains on the nation's territory.
