The
Kalispel Tribe celebrated the completion on a new gaming facility as part of a comprehensive economic development project in Washington.
The
Kalispel Casino is a 20,000 square-foot facility with 120 slot machines, a 150-seat banquet room, a 72-seat family-friendly restaurant and a neighborhood-style bar. It's located on a
60-acre project site that also boasts a fuel station, a market, a recreational vehicle resort and a storage facility.
“It’s been good. We are anticipating a full house tonight," council member Curt Holmes told The Spokesman-Review after the grand opening on Friday. "Locals are excited to come check it out.”

Kalispel Park is located in Cusick, across the Pend Oreille River from tribal headquarters in Usk. The tribe invested $10.5 million in the project.
The tribe also operates the
Northern Quest Resort and
Casino in Airway Heights, about 60 miles of the new facility. Northern Quest was one of the first to be approved under the two-part determination provisions of the
Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act. The
Spokane Tribe also operates a
two-part determination casino in Airway Heights.
