The
Otoe-Missouria Tribe is getting ready to open an indoor water park at one of its casinos in Oklahoma.
The 19,300 square-foot attraction is set to open at the
7 Clans First Council Casino Hotel in Newkirk on February 25. It's being billed as the only indoor water park at a gaming facility in the state.
“Building upon our outstanding gaming and hotel facilities as well as our unique concert venue, we look forward to offering even more entertainment options to our patrons and their families. The expansion will provide a family entertainment experience unlike any other in our region,” Chairman John R. Shotton told The Stillwater News-Press.
The water park is part of
expansion the tribe began about a year ago. The project includes a arcade, diner, coffee shop and an additional suite-style rooms at the hotel.
The water park is exclusive to hotel guests, according to the
7 Clans website.
In addition to 7 Clans, the tribe operates two casinos, one in Red Rock and another in Perry. There are also two "gasinos," or gas stations featuring gaming machines, in Newkirk and Red Rock.
