The
Pueblo of Tesuque will open its new gaming facility in New Mexico this Friday.
Officials are expecting a large crowd at the
Tesuque Casino on the day after Thanksgiving. The 72,000-square-foot property is the closest Indian gaming facility to Santa Fe, the state capital.
“Opening night attendance is unknown, of course, but we expect attendance to be around 5,000,” John Kubiak, the chairman of the
Pueblo of Tesuque Development Corp., told The Santa Fe New Mexican.

The 72,000-square-foot property will feature 800 slot machines. It replaces the Camel Rock Casino, which
shut down operations last Wednesday after 23 years in business.
The new facility is located on tribal land next to the famed
Santa Fe Opera. The outdoor venue typically hosts events only during the summer months.
Future plans at the site include a hotel. Tentative plans call for a groundbreaking in 2019, according to the
casino's Facebook account.
