Coeur d'Alene Tribe undertakes massive renovation of casino
The Coeur d'Alene Tribe is undertaking a major expansion of its gaming facility in Idaho.
Construction activities at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel began in October. The tribe is redesigning the gaming floor, upgrading the ventilation systems, adding a new high-limit area as well as a new bar and upgrading the event space.
“This project is a long time coming and although we have to deal with a little construction to get there we are extremely excited to see the final product,” CEO Francis SiJohn said on Tuesday. “This is going to give our guests an exciting gaming floor, better ventilation and an elevated entertainment experience.”
The project also includes a restoration of the mural that was painted by George Flett, a renowned artist who was from the Spokane Tribe. The original will stay in place and a digital version will be created and installed at the new gaming floor.
Overall, the remodel will cover 68,400 square feet of the property. Work is scheduled to be completed in March 2019.
The tribe has been celebrating the 25th anniversary of the casino all year. The facility began as a modest bingo hall in 1993.
The casino now features a 300-room hotel, seven restaurants and lounges, a 100,000 square-foot gaming floor and a 15,000 square foot spa. The Circling Raven Golf Club sits adjacent to the property.
