Chemehuevi Tribe on track to finish new casino in the spring of 2019

The Chemehuevi Tribe continues work on a brand new casino in California.

The 72,500 square-foot facility features a 48-room hotel, 320 gaming machines and tables, a restaurant, a general store and a marina. The $40 million project is due to open in the spring of 2019, The Havasu News reports.

“We have an amazing client and crews and team out here building a project, it’s gone extremely smooth,” project manager Cameron Carrizales of Bernards Bros. Construction told the paper.

The tribe has spent years working on the project. A groundbreaking finally took place last November.

The new facility will replace the existing Havasu Landing Resort and Casino. The site is about a quarter mile north on the California side of Lake Havasu.
