Meskwaki Tribe announces scholarships for high school graduates
The Meskwaki Tribe will be recognizing high school graduates as part of a new scholarship program being run out of its gaming facility in Iowa.
The Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel Scholarship Program will award four scholarships to students who are going on to four-year or two-year higher education institution. Of those, two slots are reserved for graduates of the high school on the Meskwaki Settlement and another is reserved for a student whose parent or legal guardian works at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel.
Applicants are being accepted through May 1. Recipients are expected to be announced on or before May 15.
The scholarship will provide $1,500 per semester for each student. Winners must maintain adequate grade point averages in order to remain eligible for the funds.
The Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel is located in Tama.
