Cowlitz Tribe kept paying casino employee even after she left job

The Cowlitz Tribe is suing a former casino employee to recover $13,672.01 in mistaken wages, The Columbian reports.

Stephanie Garza worked at ilani in Washington for six months last year, the paper said. But she continued to get paid for another four months, according to a lawsuit filed in state court.

The tribe's gaming authority is now seeking to be reimbursed for the lost wages, along with interest and other costs, the paper reported.

The tribe debuted ilani in April 2017 following years of litigation. The facility is located in Ridgefield, about 25 miles north of Portland, Oregon.
