“It’s an exciting day for the Kalispel Tribe of Indians and for our guests and team members,” Chairman Glen Nenema said at the groundbreaking, KREM reported. “Our vision has long included a focus on healthy and safe communities. Part of that mission includes providing quality family-friendly entertainment through our businesses. Today we’re one step closer to seeing that dream come true.” The casino expansion is expected to be complete sometime in 2018, according to news reports. A groundbreaking on the apartment community is slated for this fall. Northern Quest was one of the first off-reservation facilities approved under the two-part determination provisions of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
