The
Saginaw Chippewa Tribe is breaking ground on a casino expansion project.
The tribe is adding a 148-room hotel to the
Saganing Eagles Landing Casino in Standish, Michigan. Plans also call for a larger gaming floor.
“This expansion further solidifies our presence in our aboriginal territory and shows our commitment to the community and economic growth for the region,” Chief Frank Cloutier said in a
press release. The groundbreaking ceremony takes place this Friday and work is expected to be complete in early 2019.
The tribe also operates the
Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, a larger facility in Mount Pleasant. That casino already features a hotel.
