The Mohegan Tribe reported a 29.5 percent drop in gaming enterprise income for the first quarter of 2017.

According to the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, income from operations was $49.4 million for the quarter, which ended December 31, 2016. That's a big change from the $70.1 million seen during the same time period the year prior.

Gaming revenues fell 2.5 percent, the authority said. A big factor was a 6.0 percent loss in revenues from table games.

Overall, the authority lost $51.6 million in the quarter. That's a big change from 2016, when the tribe saw a net gain of $31.9 million.

The tribe operates the Mohegan Sun on its reservation in Connecticut and Mohegan Sun Pocono, a commercial facility in Pennsylvania.
