Mark Hannan, 20, was a cage cashier at the Native Star Casino. He admitted he stole nearly $12,200 from the Class II facility, which is located on the Nebraska portion of the reservation.

According to his plea agreement, Hannan "created false jackpots" and took the proceeds. He was seen on surveillance footage "literally putting the money into his pockets," the document states.

The thefts occurred over a rather short period of time -- between November 2015 and February 2016, according to the plea. He admitted his crime when confronted by casino personnel and again when interviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the agreement reads.

Hannan was sentenced on Monday to five years of probation. He also was ordered to repay $12,192.61 to the tribe.
