First Nations casino in Saskatchewan pays out $1.5M jackpot

Doreen Reid won $1.5 million at the Gold Eagle Casino. It's the second $1 million-plus jackpot at a Native casino this year and the third in the last two years.

"On behalf of the staff from Gold Eagle Casino, we are thrilled for Doreen on her big win. Congratulations on your Smoke Signals jackpot," general manager Kelly Atcheynum said in a press release.

The Smoke Signals progressive slot machines are linked to all six First Nations casinos in the province. The casinos are overseen by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority.
