The Coeur d'Alene Tribe announced Francis SiJohn as the top executive of its casino in Idaho.

SiJohn has worked at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel for nearly a decade. His first day as the new chief executive officer is Monday.

"I’m humbled to be chosen for this position and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve my tribe and appreciate the opportunity to serve the casino as its chief executive," SiJohn, who served on the tribal council before moving to the gaming side, said in a press release that was posted by The Spokesman Review. "I’m proud of the world class hospitality and the experiences we offer our guests at the casino and I look forward to continuing our tradition of 'Welcome Home' hospitality."

SiJohn succeeds David Matheson, a tribal member who had the unusual distinction of being fired then rehired as the casino's top executive.
