The Seminole Tribe of Florida is seeking summary judgement in its Class III gaming compact lawsuit. The tribe wants a decision affirming its right to continue offering blackjack and other banked card games until 2030, The News Service of Florida reported. The motion alleges that the state has allowed similar games at non-Indian facilities, thus breaking a provision promising exclusivity. The tribe also wants a federal judge to order the state to come back to the negotiating table, The News Service reported. The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act requires talks in "good faith," the lawsuit alleges. The state has field its own motion for summary judgement, The News Service reported. It appears to focus mainly on the good faith angle in the case. The tribe has continued to offer banked games even though a key provision of its 2010 compact expired last summer. The tribe also has continued to share revenues with the state. Since 2010, more than $1 billion has been shared. Get the Story:
