Former Winnebago Tribe casino employee denies theft charge

A former employee of a casino owned by the Winnebago Tribe appeared in federal court to face a theft charge.

Mark Hannan was a cage cashier at the Native Star Casino, a Class II facility, on the Nebraska portion of the reservation. The indictment alleges that he stole about $15,000 from the facility between November 1, 2015, and February 15, 2016.

Hannan, 19, pleaded not guilty to the charge, The Sioux City Journal reported.
