The Bureau of Indian Affairs appears to making progress on the casino proposed by the Coquille Tribe of Oregon. The BIA has completed an "administrative draft environmental study" for the Cedars at Bear Creek, The Medford Mail Tribune reported. Although the document is not available for public consumption it indicates that the draft environmental impact statement will be coming soon. Still, the BIA has fallen behind on its anticipated schedule. Since the draft hasn't been released, the final EIS definitely won't be coming out this summer. The tribe plans to offer Class II gaming on a 2.42-acre parcel in Medford. The site is about 170 miles from the Mill Casino, the tribe's Class III facility in North Bend. Get the Story:
