The Pala Band of Mission Indians signed a new Class III gaming compact with California Gov. Jerry Brown (D).

The agreement allows the tribe to operate 2,500 slot machines, up from 2,000, to the Pala Casino Resort and Spa. But there are plans for more devices at this time, a spokesperson told City News Service.

The compact must be ratified by the California Legislature before it can be sent to the Bureau of Indian Affairs for review. A copy can be found on the governor's website.
