The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians has agreed to share two percent of revenues from its proposed casino in South Bend, Indiana. The money will cover the estimated losses in property taxes at the 166-acre site. But the tribe is also agreeing to pay taxes for the proposed hotel and to reimburse the city for any costs it incurs in supporting the project, The South Bend Tribune reports. The promises are detailed in a memorandum of understanding that will be considered by the common council in South Bend on Monday night. If approved, the agreement requires the city to actively support the tribe's land-into-trust application. The tribe operates three gaming facilities in Michigan.
