The Tohono O'odham Nation signed on as a title sponsor of a Verizon IndyCar Series race in Arizona. The Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix will be held at the Phoenix International Raceway on April 2. The name comes from the new Desert Diamond West Valley Casino and Resort in nearby Glendale. “We are very excited to be partnering with PIR on the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix,” Andy Asselin, tge CEO of Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment, said in a press release. The tribe opened the casino in December 2015 after overcoming significant legal and political opposition. Get the Story:
