United Auburn Indian Community spends $40M on hotel at casino

The United Auburn Indian Community of California will spend $40 million on a hotel renovation and expansion project at its casino.

The tribe debuted the hotel Thunder Valley Casino in June 2010 but three floor were left unfinished. Those floors will now be completed, adding 111 rooms to the facility. Additionally, the existing 297 rooms are being renovated.

Work should take about 18 months, The Sacramento Bee reported. The hotel will remain open during the entire project.
