Tribes in Connecticut are increasing slot machine payout rates amid rising competition in New England, The Boston Globe reports. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation raised the payout rate at Foxwoods Resort Casino to 91.98 percent, the highest in almost 20 years, the paper said. And the Mohegan Tribe went to 91.79 percent at Mohegan Sun, its highest since 2010. “We always monitor payout percentages to ensure that we stay competitive in the market,” said Bobby Soper, the president of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, told the paper. “We obviously look at what competitors are doing.” In comparison, the payout rate at Twin River Casino in Rhode Island was 91.87 percent, the highest in 11 years, the Globe reported. The rate at Plainridge Park Casino in Massachusetts was 91.43 percent, the paper said. Both are non-Indian facilities. Get the Story:
