The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians in Michigan are exploring new uses for an old casino site.

The Victories Casino in Petoskey closed in 2007 when the Odawa Casino Resort opened nearby. The building was demolished in 2013 and preliminary work has begun as development plans are considered, The Petoskey News-Review reported.

"We're in the process of exploring various tenants and avenues and different ways of developing the project," Bryan Gillett, the vice president of Odawa Economic Development Management Inc., the tribe's economic development entity, told the paper.

The tribal health clinic is located at the site and will remain in place, the paper said.
