The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians is putting the finishing touches on a $6.2 million renovation plan on its urban casino in Duluth, Minnesota.

The Fond-du-Luth Casino is getting more modern look, nearly 30 years after opening in 1986. The Art Deco facade and the interior are being replaced, the surveillance system is being updated and the first floor is being converted to a non-smoking area.

The second floor is already finished and work continues on the first floor, NNCNOW.com reported. The project should be ready by the end of the month.

"It's been a long time coming and it looks beautiful," marketing manager Tina Nordin told the site.
