The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma debuts the first rodeo event this Memorial Day weekend at its newly reopened casino near the Missouri border.

The Bordertown Casino and Arena is hosting an Open Bull Futurity on Saturday. The event features young bulls without human riders.

"We wanted something different and we wanted something that was not in the area," Chief Glenna Wallace told The Miami News-Record after the casino reopened last month. "We also know that according to statistics bull riding is the fastest growing sport in the United States."

The tribe also operates the Indigo Sky Casino.
