The Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma needs 5,000 construction workers for its $329 million casino expansion and the tribe is making a big effort to recruit Native Americans for jobs.

The Tribal Employment Rights Office will hold a job fair next Thursday, May 28, to find people to work on the River Spirit Casino project. Creek citizens and members of other tribes are encouraged to attend.

The tribe started work on the project last November. Plans call for a 27-story hotel with 483 rooms, along with a new gaming area, entertainment venue, convention center, spa, pool, theater and restaurants in partnership with Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville brand.

Construction will take about two years.
