Eastern Shawnee Tribe closer to reopening of casino by border

The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma is getting closer to the reopening of its casino near the Missouri border.

The Bordertown Casino and Arena will open to the public on April 2. The facility underwent a makeover and will emerge with a western and rodeo theme.

"The building is the same building that we had before. We've really done very little as far as changing the way the building was laid out. We have just repurposed it," Chief Glenna Wallace told Four States Homepage.

The casino will feature 537 gaming machines, a restaurant called CoCo's Chuckwagon and a dance floor/event space called the Lost Creek Saloon There will also be an outdoor arena for bull riding events.

Wallace said the tribe is hiring between 100 to 150 people to work at the casino.
