The Tonto Apache Tribe of Arizona shared more than $23,000 in gaming revenues with the local community.

Under the Class III gaming compact, the tribe sends a percentage of revenues from the Mazatzal Hotel and Casino to the state. Of that amount, 12 percent goes to local community.

Beyond the compact, the tribe is donating its unclaimed jackpot fund to local charities. Last year, $9,817 was sent to 16 non-profits in the area and more will be sent this year.

“The Unclaimed Jackpot Program provides yet another opportunity for the tribe and casino to continue contributing to our community,” casino general manager Roger Leslie told The Payson Roundup.
