The Senate Indian Affairs Committee will hold a confirmation hearing next month for Jonodev Chaudhuri to serve as chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission.

Chaudhuri is a member of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma. He serves as vice chair of the NIGC and has served as acting chair because the agency has been without a Senate-confirmed leader since September 2013.

The committee held a confirmation hearing for Chaudhuri last November but he never saw action on the Senate floor. President Barack Obama re-submitted the nomination last month, starting the process all over again.

The hearing will take place March 11.
