The Hannahville Indian Community of Michigan has started work on a $8 million casino expansion project.

The tribe will spend two years to make upgrades and add 15,390 square-feet of space at the Island Resort & Casino. Plans call for a full-service spa, a second golf course, a new hotel entrance and numerous renovations throughout the facility.

Some of the renovations inside the casino will be ready this summer, the general manager told ABC10. The spa should be open in about a year while the golf course will be complete in the spring of 2017.

“We want them to have a full experience. Whatever they want to do, we want to be able to provide it and we want to provide a top–notch experience,” manager Tony Mancilla told ABC10.
