Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley (R) won't be negotiating a Class III gaming compact with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. Bentley last year said he was open to the idea to address budget deficits. But a compact is no longer on the table even though the tribe is willing to share revenues with the state. “The only thing that is not on the table is gambling, we’re not proposing gambling as a solution to this problem,” Bentley told reporters, The Florence Times Daily reported. A majority of people in Alabama support an expansion of gaming in the state, according to a poll commissioned by WKRG. Get the Story:
