Arizona tribes shared $14.2 million in gaming revenues with the state in the quarter that ended December 31, 2014. According to the Arizona Department of Gaming, the amount shared was 5.8 percent higher than the same quarter in the prior year. The news was called encouraging. “While one quarter does not establish a trend, we are cautiously optimistic that these numbers reflect an improving economy,” Daniel Bergin, the department's director, said in a press release. “This is a positive economic sign for our state and critical programs will continue to benefit from this financial support.” Overall, tribes have shared $1.025 billion with the state since 2004, when the revenues were first recorded, according to the department's cumulative totals.
