The Tohono O'odham Nation plans to open an off-reservation casino a year from now. The tribe broke ground on the $500 million West Valley Resort. An initial structure will take 12 months to finish and will include a gaming area and two restaurants, The Glendale Daily News-Sun reported. “There’ll be gambling there this time next year,” Ian Hugh, a council member for the city of Glendale, told the paper. A final structure is expected to open in early 2016, the paper said. It will feature a larger gaming area, more restaurants and a 1,100-space parking lot. Get the Story:
