Pueblo man sentenced to two years for trying to rob casino

A man from Laguna Pueblo in New Mexico was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for trying to rob another tribe's casino.

Steven Paul Tharpe, 51, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted robbery. He admitted that he displayed a BB gun at the Sky City Casino on July 21, 2012, and demanded money from the cashier's cage.

The casino is owned by Acoma Pueblo.
