The Oneida Nation of New York is unveiling its newest gaming location today.

The tribe has installed 14 electronic machines at the SavOn Convenience Store in Canastota. The store is right off the New York Thruway.

"This will be a truly convenient gaming alternative for our customers,'' spokesperson Joel Barkin told The Syracuse Post-Standard.

There were conflicting reports about the nature of the devices. The Utica Observer Dispatch said they were Class II machines while other outlets said they were slot machines, which would be considered Class III.

The store is part of the tribe's land-into-trust application that was finalized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in June.
