The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has reduced the height of a new hotel under construction at one of its casinos.

The tower at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant was supposed to reach 22 floors. Plans now call for a 14-story facility in order to avoid delays in seeking approval from the Federal Aviation Administration for a taller structure.

The expansion is expected to open in summer 2015. In addition to the hotel, there will be a conference center, bowling alley, movie theater and events center.

This summer, the casino debuted The Oasis, an 11,000 square-foot pool area with two pools, seven spas, two bars, fire pits and cabanas.
